I’ve made a clone of the York County Emergency Radio Comm. app, by request of Lancaster County responders who saw the York County App.

Currently this app does not do as much as the York app.

It only streams Lancaster County Fire/EMS communications

Police communications is planned. I need a stream in order to add them.

And Paging, is in the works also.

Keep an eye out for updates and if you have any resources let me know.

The Future Change logs will be under the Android Apps page.

As will the York County App, and any future apps. I will still post an article when i release an update, and release new apps. But everything will be centralized on the Android Apps page

Added notification so that you know its running, will be switching this to an on going notification while streams are active. Took app out of Beta.

Switched both streams for fire and police to services to make streams compatible with multi-tasking.
The ability to stream both at the same time is also now possible.

I picked up the car dock this past weekend at Verizon. Its nice if you have a smooth dash, it will suction to the dash, or to the windsheild. Its very easy in my vehicles to adjust it so that you do not need to take your hand off the wheel to tap something on the phone. Just stick out your finger and tap, your eyes are still looking out the windsheild.

However, I found one modification that should be done at the factory. Add a cut out for the camera. I modified mine. So that I can observe the benefits of augmented reality gps. For those of you who do not know augmented reality uses your camera and overlays stuff on the view of the camera, as in the gps just imagine you are driving along, Your phone is showing you exactly what you are looking at in front of you. and the road you are on is highlighted in one color or another. on the screen. That is cool. But they do not allow for this with the standard car dock, the only one specifically available for the droid. So here is what you do. take a dremel tool, and notch out the area on the mount where your phones camera would be when its in the dock.

Now wikitude, or AugSatNav.

AugSatNav displays your route using the camera.
Wikitude, displays wikipedia info such as historic sites, town & cities census stats.

I would love to see Google turn Google Maps for the Droid into This Street View is neat seeing pictures of your turn or photos of your destination, but Google come one, we know you’ve got the capability of this. Do it already. You would do it the best.
